Before I start this morning I would like to let everyone know that I greatly appreciaete your comments and enjoy reading them. This morning I was reading Luke 7:31-50.Jesus says to the women in verse 50 Thy faith hath saved thee;go in peace. AS read that I deccided to read it in my amplified translation. Listen to this translation"But Jesus said to the woman, Your faith has saved you;go(enter)into peace[in freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin]. Here is Jesus saying to the woman your sins are forgiven now walk in the freedom from all the problems that sin has created for you.She was made completly whole. If you read the story you will find that she was a lady of the night. She had built up quite a reputation that made her an outcast from the rest of society. She came into the Pharisees house and found Jesus and began to weep and the tears from her eyes were used by her to wash and caress the feet of Jesus. She had brought a very expensive oil and began to sooth his feet with it. She had shown Jesus her love for him with out expecting any thing in return. The Key to all this is in verse 47"Therfore I tell you,her sins, many[as they are]are forgiven her- because she has loved much. But he who is forgiven little loves little. Those of us who just take are salvation for granted and keep on doing what we no to be wrong really have not come to place this woman came to. What did she give? She gave of herself. When you think about it she entered a house where people rejected and scorned her to get near the Master she fell at his feet and gave of her substance to care for the need of Jesus. If you read the story the man who invited Jesus never even thought about giving him water to wash his tired feet, nor oil to sooth them with but yet he was a guest of that man. The man just took Jesus love for granted and never truly experienced the joy that the woman experienced when Jesus cleansed her from all her sin and the ditresses that came with the sin. What a mighty Lord we have who has forgiven us all our sins and has given us a great freedom in Him. Be blessed in the Lord and enjoy your freedom he has given you in Him.Have a Blessed and healthy day in Jesus.FromPastor Ken
