Good morning and praise the Lord!!!Just think how wonderful it is to know God the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord.Think how wonderful it is that the Father loved us so much that he gave his only Begotten Son For us and that through Jesus he sent us the Holy Spirit to guide us into the things of God and into the great truths of God. Which brings me to the what I believe God has made away for us to walk free from all distractions that come at us. Lets look at distraction number two.TEMPTATION: MANY OF US CHRISTIAN AND NON CHRISTIAN ARE FACED WITH TEMTATION EVERYDAY.Temtation is real it comes in all sizes and shapes and comes in many forms. What ever made a christians think that they would never be tempted after the gave trheir life to Christ. WE are told in 1Cor.10:13" There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." What a promise from God we have away out of the temptation it is through our relationship with Jesus the Son Of God. We live in a time when you can not go any where or even turn the TV on with out being faced with a temptation. But praise God we have the power within us to say no. As you have probly seen buy know I like the amplified translation of the bible as I study with the King James I lay the amplified beside it and read both. Listen to this verse from the amplified bible"For no temtation(no trial regarded as enticing to sin),[no matter how it comes or where it leads]has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man[that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful[to His Word and to His compassionate nature],and He[can be trusted]not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistence and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out(the means of escape to a landing place),that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently. I believe we have the power within us to resist those temtations that come at us. We are the ones who have to step up to the plate and say no when those temptations come. Let me ask you this. Is this not what Jesus did at the hour of his baptismn. After John had baptized him in the Jordan was he not taken immediatly by the spirit into the wilderness where he was temted by the devil with all the things we are tempted with. How did Jesus resist? He spoke the word of God against the devil and his temptations you and I must follow the example of Jesus. Read Luke chapter 4:1-14 for youself and see how Jesus resisted temptation and then decide to follow his example and begin to resist by speaking the Word of God against the temptation. Let me leave you with the words from verse fourteen from the amplified translation"Therefore my dearly beloved, shun(keep clear away from, avoid by flight if need be)any sort of idolatry(of loving or venerating anything more than God). Have a blessed and healthy day in Jesus Our Lord. Open your heart to Jesus and let him become the joy and power in your life. From Pastor Ken
