You Are A New Creation.

In 2 Corinthians 5:17:We are told that we are a new creation, the old has passed away. What does it mean the old has passed away? To explain this we also must look at Romans 6:6" Knowing this that our old man is cruicified with him(Jesus), that the body of sin might be desroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. You and I became a new creation the day we opened our heart up to the King of Kings and aked Him to forgives us our sins. WE gave our lives to the Lord for Him to rule and regien in. Up till then we were just walking around in a life driven by the demands of sin and our sinful nature. Notice 2Cor.17 says the old is passed away. What happens when something is passed away? It doesn't exist anymore. Our old sinful nature has been replaced with the nature of God who recreated us in his image.Listen to the words of Romans6:6 from the amplified translation:"We know that our old(unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with him in order that (our) body [which is the instrument]of sin might be ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin. We might ask how come I struggle so hard to be a christian. I believe it is because we never really let go of the old man of sin. Think about this for a moment how many times as a christian do we talk about the old days. The days before we became children of God. The old days before Christ. WE were dominated by the old sinful nature and was ruled by the powers of sin and self gratification. When Jesus came into our lives he brought with him a new way of life, filled with the things and ways of God our heavenly Father. There is a life changing power living on the inside of us, it is the Spirit of the living God.The resurrection life of Jesus now lives in us enabling us to live a life free of sin all we have to do is say no to sin.But to fully enjoy what God has for us we must take a long look at our self and ask the question have I let go of the old or do I still hold onto the past? When you and I were born again the past was put under the the blood. You and I must learn to leave it buried under the blood and focus on living the new life weve been given for Christ. Lets Honor our Lord and Saviour this easter by truly letting go of the past and walk in the new for him. Have a blessed and Healthy Day In Jesus Name. From Pastor Ken.
